Margo Valdes

Founder & President

Margo has worked in the building performance industry since 2008. After years as a consultant, Margo founded Athena to bring a higher standard of care, integrity, and accountability to work that directly impacts people’s health and comfort.

Since 2023, Margo has grown Athena from a single truck into a trusted contractor completing hundreds of homes through MassSave and Community Action Programs. Athena specializes in insulation, air sealing, and building performance improvements for single-family and multifamily buildings, with a focus on measurable, long-term results.

Margo is a licensed Massachusetts Construction Supervisor and a BPI-certified Multifamily Building Analyst. In addition to leading Athena, she provides training for weatherization crew leads and teaches basic building science, driven by a genuine love of helping others understand how buildings work and how thoughtful improvements can support healthier, more comfortable lives. Known for her hands-on leadership and problem-solving approach, Margo is building a company that improves homes, supports communities, and creates meaningful career opportunities — one building at a time.

Christina Miranda

Office Manager

Christina Miranda is the Office Manager for Athena Building Performance, overseeing the systems and day-to-day operations that keep the company running smoothly. With a strong background in administrative management, operations, and customer-facing leadership, she manages scheduling, payroll, onboarding, and daily office functions while serving as a key point of contact for clients, crews, and partners. Known for her steady presence, clear communication, and attention to detail, Christina plays a critical role in ensuring both employees and homeowners feel supported throughout the weatherization process. Her commitment to organization, professionalism, and care helps Athena deliver high-quality work with consistency and integrity.
